μLAN 1 and LeachLAN 8

You may have noticed we’ve been a bit quiet lately… but we’re back with some great news! Today we can announce two LAN events in the coming months.

First up, we have a new event at a new venue. μLAN 1 will take place at Almondsbury Sports and Social Club in Bristol. Being a little shorter and cheaper than our previous events we hope to tempt the uninitiated out of their darkened bedrooms and into the friendly social atmosphere of a LAN.
This new event will take place between the 24th and 26th of February and promises to be a great weekend. More details can be found here and bookings are now open.

Secondly, we have a date for the postponed LeachLAN 8.

LeachLAN 8 – Postponed

Unfortunately, due to lack of signups and after consulting with our confirmed attendees we’ve made the decision to postpone L8.

We are now looking to hold the event in the summer of 2012, we’ll be posting exact dates soon.

If you have booked, we will be contacting you soon by email to confirm what you wish to do. Your booking remains valid for the new date, and our cancellation fee will be waved should you chose to do so. Full details will be provided in that mail.

We’re hoping to hold a smaller event soon, to tide us over. More details on that when we have any.

LeachLAN 8 – Bigger, Longer and Uncut

Sadly, LeachLAN 7 is over, but fear not. LeachLAN 8 isn’t as far away as you might think.

The dates for LeachLAN 8 are 6PM Thursday 28th July to 6PM Monday 1st August, yes that’s a whole day longer than LeachLAN 7!

Bookings for LeachLAN 8 can be made using our online booking system. Book before 28th June to get a £10 discount, meaning a BYOC ticket is now £40 instead the normal £50!
LeachLAN 8 will feature the following:

Our chef, Tsietisin, will return to his home by the barbeque to bring you meat, made with fire.
Even more gaming, socialising and drinking in the extra 24 hours.
A variety of game tournaments to test your skills against the rest.
Saturday night pub quiz to test your knowledge of, and teach you more, incredibly useful information.
The SEKRIT TOURNEY will return! If we told you what it’s going to be we’d have to kill you but here’s a video from LeachLAN 7 to keep you going.

LeachLAN 7 – Bring A Newb For A Fiver

Back by popular request, you are now able to “bring a newb for a fiver” to LeachLAN 7!

This promotion will work the same way as it did at LeachLAN 6, where anyone who is currently fully booked and paid for LeachLAN 7 can invite a friend who hasn’t been to one of our LeachLAN events, to LeachLAN 7. For just £5 each!

There are only 10 newb spaces for LeachLAN 7, and these are limited to one newb per person. And when they’re gone. They’re gone!

Has this got the gaming juices flowing for you and your friends? Then, there are three quick steps that you need to complete to get gaming!

Step 1) Get your friend to signup to our booking system at the booking area of our website
Step 2) Drop us an email on behalf of them billing@swlans.co.uk to let us know they’re booking, and they’re coming with you!
Step 3) Get them to signup for LeachLAN7 as a BACs booking and send us £5 via bank transfer.

LeachLAN 7 – First LAN of 2011

So… we’ve been a bit quiet for a while but now we’re back and better than ever.

First off, we’ve had a few staff changes. Shazz has unfortunately left us but we’d like to welcome IRConan and Tsietisin to the team.

Next up, we’ve made a few changes to out booking system. From now on we accept payments by BACS transfer (note the account details have changed), Paypal and credit or debit card.

Last but not least, LeachLAN will be returning to its home in Northleach from 6pm Thursday 24th to 6pm Sunday 27th March.
LeachLAN 7 will feature our usual free barbecue on Friday night, our very own themed pub quiz on Saturday and will bring more and better tournaments and big-games than ever before.

We’re currently planning to run tournaments for UT2004, Minecraft, Armegatron and Supreme Commander FA. If you have any suggestions or ideas head over to the forums to discuss them.

We’re also continuing with the “bring a newb” discount. Anyone who hasn’t been to a LeachLAN before can attend for only £5 if a full paid attendee invites them. If you want to take advantage of this offer please book now, select “Pay by BACS” and then have your inviter email us with the details.

For the rest of you who’ve been before there’s only 7 days left of early discount period. Book before midnight on February 14th for a £5 discount.

LeachLAN 6 – Thanks for Coming!

LeachLAN 6 may be over, but we’ll be back… We’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who came to LeachLAN 6, we hope you enjoyed it! Tell us what you did like… or what you didn’t in our LeachLAN 6 feedback thread. Any feedback is greatly received, so we can make changes to at future events.

We hope that you enjoyed LeachLAN 6 as much as we did running the event on and hope to see you again at a LeachLAN 7, which kicks off at Thursday 24th March at 6PM and ends at Sunday 27th March.Bookings are now open at a discounted price of £35 until 1st Feburary! LeachLAN 6 – Food & Drink Information

It’s LeachLAN 6 food information time!

However, before we get to what food is on offer over the weekend. The bar times need confirmation! The bar will be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings between 6PM-11PM. As always the bar will be selling a selection of reasonably priced Ales, Beers, Ciders, Spirits & Wine. Full price information can be found here.

And now, to the food! On Friday afternoon our FREE BBQ will be taking place at approximately 4PM and will be serving a selection of Burgers and Hot Dogs for you all! We however need to know of peoples specific dietary requirements, such as if you are a Vegetarian to be able to cater for you. If you are, please let us know via e-mail to info@swlans.co.uk so we have enough food for you!

On Saturday night we will once again be organizing a large order to a local takeaway at approximately 6PM. Once again we will be putting in a massive order to the Curry house in Burford! Further information regarding this order will be available on the event Intranet.

Finally, we will once again be selling a selection of snacks and drinks throughout the weekend at the event front desk. We have now put a stock list and prices online. Further details can be found here.

We’re now mere days from LeachLAN 6, and we think that the time is right for us to finalize what is going to be happening at the event! As a result we have now posted the “final” event plan for all of our organized big games and social activities.
